Titanium in aerospace structures and engines

Aerospace designers choose titanium where strength-to-weight ratio, fatigue resistance and corrosion resistance drive the design. Typical applications include airframe structural members, fasteners, landing gear components, compressor blades and discs, hydraulic tubing and exhaust structures.

Commonly specified grades include commercially pure titanium (Gr2) for formed parts and corrosion-critical components, and Ti-6Al-4V (Gr5) for structurally loaded parts. Materials are supplied to ASTM B265 (plate/sheet), ASTM B348 (bar), ASTM B338 (tube) and ASME specifications, with mill test certificates and, where required, third-party witness inspection.

Our role as a material supplier is to deliver plate, bar, tube, wire and fastener stock in the specified grade, temper and dimensional tolerance, with full documentation traceable to the mill.
